We have a dedicated and passionate team of agents working closely with authors to guide them through the publishing process from first book to Booker Prize!  We believe in building careers and establishing long-term relationships with our authors. Given the strength of our in-house translation rights business we are particularly interested in writers with international appeal and we are committed to getting our authors the best possible exposure throughout the world.

The Marsh Agency represents commercial and literary fiction, general non-fiction and some academic non-fiction particularly in psychology and related fields. We do not represent poetry, children’s picture books,  or film / TV scripts. Submission Guidelines

We welcome submissions from authors seeking representation. Before submitting your work to us please familiarise yourself with the type of work we do and don't represent and read the agent profiles to decide who you would like to submit to. We will not read or respond to submissions of work that does not comply with our submissions guidelines.

In order to consider your work we require the following material:

• A brief covering letter your contact details and any relevant information, including any previously published work and any experience which relates to the book’s subject matter.
• A short synopsis. Fiction: outline the plot and main characters.  Non-Fiction: a summary of the work and chapter outlines
• First three chapters (no more than 100 pages) double spaced with all pages numbered

Please put your name and contact details on the front of your manuscript and ensure that your name and the title of your work appear on all pages.

To submit your work electronically please click on the link below. If you would rather submit by post, please state how you would like to receive your response (by email or post).  If you would like a postal reply please include a small stamped addressed envelope or a large correctly stamped envelope if you would like us to return your work.  Please only send a copy of your work and not the original as items do go missing in the post.

Please note:

• We cannot be held responsible for any manuscripts entrusted to us. Always keep a back up of your work.
• We do not charge a reading fee
• We do not represent US authors as a primary English Language Agent.
• We endeavour to respond to queries and submissions promptly, but please remember that we receive a large number of submissions and so it may be a number of weeks before you hear from us. 
• We do not accept submissions by email. If you are having problems with the submissions link below please submit your work by post.

Please do not call or email us until 8 weeks have elapsed.

Due to the large volume of submissions we receive we cannot provide feedback or enter into correspondence about your submission.
