Mark Paterson

Mark Paterson trained in printing and publishing at the famous Scottish firm of Thomas Nelson and Sons before spending 6 years working in New York with first Oxford and then Cambridge University Press. In 1955 he set up the Mark Paterson firm representing a number of American publishers for the promotion of their books in Britain and later as an agency for the importation of American books generally. Mark Paterson and Associates Literary Agency was founded in 1961 to concentrate on publishing licences and Mark ran this business for forty years joining forces with Paul Marsh in 2001.

Mark now works for Paterson Marsh Ltd on a consultancy basis. He is a fount of information on copyright matters and has been an active member of British Literary and Artistic Copyright Association and the British Copyright Council for many years.
